THE LARGEST MUSIC CONCERT IN AFRICA Date Added: March 09, 2008 05:58:25 PM THE LARGEST GOSPEL MUSIC CONCERT IN AFRICA THE EXPERIENCE On the 30th of November 2007, The biggest Music Concert on African soil, and the largest Gospel Music Concert in the World. House on the rock marked its annual music praise concert tagged the “Experience”. The experience was a world class event which took place at (T.B.S) Tafawa Balewa Square Lagos Nigeria. The experience for the first time was hosted last year 2006 with the likes of Kirt franklin, Israel Houghton Lionel Peterson e.t.c. Most people underestimated the incredible impact of a true encounter with god. The vision for the experience is simple people coming together in concerted and vibrant worship to experience the power of a true encounter with God. It is an opportunity for Nigerians and Non-Nigerians, people of all classes to witness and participate in a musical event of immense magnitude comparable to the best event anywhere in the world. The experience is a sacrifice of faith says the organizers “we wholeheartedly believe that as worship, repentance and prayer ascend to god, he will look upon our nation favorably, forgive our Nations sin and bless our Land” The experience debuted in December 2007 with an unprecedented crowd estimated to be in excess over 400,000 people. The visitation of the Almighty was absolutely phenomenal evidenced by his unmistakable presence, countless healing and resounding testimonies was recorded surely the experience 2007 was a memorable and exciting event I have ever attended. It was an awesome experience amazing music, wonderful ministrations with the likes of the finest of lead worshippers and psalmists, Don Moen, Lionel Peterson, Tye Tribbet Kurt Carr, Cece Winans, Israel Houghton, Marvin Winans and other local artist like Muyiwa Olanrewaju, Mike Aremu, Asu Ekiye and one of the most prolific proponent of the gospel in our times, Bishop T.D Jakes. The experience 2007 was unique in that, the best Christian musical event that’s extremely spiritual and at the same time very entertaining, indeed Nigerians witnessed a thrilling listening, singing and dancing with such great talents. It also gave Nigerians the opportunity to pray and bless the land. Overall putting such a great concert together with no casualty is a pride to Christians in Nigeria and especially to the House on the rock church for a great fellowship with the help of the Jesus boys (Area Boys) being relevant, their Ids, their Personalized T Shirts, their enthusiasm for the role given to them the fact that there was “no” traffic even though it was jam packed. It was fun !fun! But deeply S-p-i-r-i-t-u-a-l. It was a job well done by the organizers people marveled at the crowd people won’t just coming in. The personate patriotic prayers of the church all just added together to make it an awesome “Experience”. |
